La Milpa Field Station

La Milpa Field Station lies nestled deep in the forests of northwestern Belize. In May 1996, the La Milpa Archaeological Site received international attention with the finding of a royal Maya tomb which unearthed a male skeleton adorned with a jeweled necklace.

Facilities include the charmingly rustic and private thatched-roof cabanas, a state-of-the-art 'green' dormitory, La Milpa's Dining Room which serves food three meals daily, and education center, comprised of a conference / training room and library.

Activities at La Milpa include Forest Trails and Walks, Birding, Village Community Visits and Archaeological Research.
