La Milpa – Accommodations
We hope your stay here is enjoyable and informative and that you experience the uniqueness of the tropical forest with its abundant flora, fauna, and Mayan cultural heritage. Your comfort begins with your choice of accommodations at our site.
Your cabaña is thatched with leaves from the botan palm. The technique is thousands of years old and is still in use today. This cabaña will be your home away from home during your stay with us.
Each cabaña comes equipped with two double beds located in the main room and one double bed located in the loft area in each room. Guests are asked to exercise care and caution when climbing or descending the ladder to the loft areas of each room.
Each cabaña is equipped with fan units conveniently located in the main areas and lofts to make your stay more comfortable especially during the hot summer months.
Each cabana comes equipped with mosquito nets that can be utilized for added guest comfort if required during the night.
The dormitory facility is a state of the art green facility which features separate male and female shared bath units. Additionally, the facility features Clivus Multrum composting toilets.
The dormitory has a total of 6 rooms each equipped with 4 single beds in bunk style and a 5th single bed in the loft area of each room for a total sleeping capacity of 30.
Each dormitory room is equipped with fan units conveniently located in the main areas and lofts to make your stay more comfortable especially during the summer months.
We thank you for supporting our non-smoking policy inside all buildings while staying with us. Our quiet time begins at 9.00 pm. This means no radios, loud conversations or any noise which may disturb others. Please respect the station workers and your fellow guests who are likely to be getting up early in the morning for a new day of exciting activities!
