Hill Bank – Accommodations

We hope your stay here is enjoyable and informative and that you experience the uniqueness of the tropical forest with its abundant flora, fauna, and Mayan cultural heritage.  Your comfort begins with your choice of accommodations at our site.

Your cabaña is made entirely of local hardwoods.  This cabaña will be your home away from home during your stay with us. Each cabaña comes equipped with two double beds located in the main room. Each cabaña is equipped with fan units conveniently located in the main areas to make your stay more comfortable especially during the hot summer months. If you find that anything in your cabaña is not functioning properly and needs attention, please notify your field naturalist or station manager immediately so that the problem can be remedied.

The dormitory facility is a state of the art green facility which features separate male and female shared bath units.  Additionally, the facility features Clivus Multrum composting toilets. The dormitory has a total of 6 rooms each equipped with 4 single beds in bunk style and a 5th single bed in the loft area of each room for a total sleeping capacity of 30.

Each dormitory room is equipped with fan units conveniently located in the main areas and lofts to make your stay more comfortable especially during the hot summer months.

A fire extinguisher is located immediately outside each cabana room or door room.  Please take a few minutes to identify where your extinguisher is located.  We thank you for supporting our non-smoking policy inside all buildings while staying with us.

Quiet time begins at 9.00 pm. This means no radios, loud conversations or any noise which may disturb others.  Please respect the station workers and your fellow guests who are likely to be getting up early in the morning.
